Our Story

I was born in Israel to a family of business owners. My father had a Middle Eastern restaurant and i used to spend many hours of my day helping him out.
At 10 years of age, I remember doing dishes, preparing the meals and even serving the customers.
The food that I was raised on mainly included levantine food influences (Jordan, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, Greece and others)

Ever since I moved to Portugal in 2018 I felt the need to share some of my childhood through the food I grew on. In 2018 I had the opportunity to so and co-founded Sabores do Levante Lda (a.k.a. Hummus.pt), that was closed in 2019.
Sabores do Levante Lda provided home deliveries, catering services and had personalized pop-up dinners.

Two and half years later, I still have the need to share my food culture with the community and want to do so in a new packages concept that would allow the customers to have a constant supply of Levantine food that would become part of their day to day diet.

The main mission of Levant groceries, is to ensure that Middle Eastern / Levantine food lovers always have sufficient supply of products on a weekly basis.
On a weekly basis our customers will receive family recipes, plating suggestions, recommendations of consumption and storage tips.
As a business validation effort, we will launch only if we acheive a minimum amount of pre-orders in the Lisbon District.
If we manage to acheive our preoder target we expect to launch by mid-July.

FAQs

In order to get acquainted with our services we do provide a one time order to be submitted, however for subsequent orders you will need to subscribe to a bi-weekly package.

We will start covering all the coast region from Cascais to Lisbon.

If you are out of the initial delivery area, you can apply for a pre-order anyway. If we see that there are more requests in your area we will definitely consider opening a delivery service to cover your specific area.
You can opt for a weekly or a bi-weekly delivery (every two weeks)
To accomodate for traffic and unexpectied delays, delivery slots are 3 hour slots.
Please ensure that there is someone at home during that time
You will recieve 2 reminders (via SMS or WhatsApp): one day prior to delivery and on the same day.
If there is a case that you will not have someone to recieve the package, please inform us and provide an alternative delivery location.

Note that the package does include products that might need a freezer or a fridge so ensure that the alternative location does have cooling options.
Initially the packages will be delivered in cardboard and plastic boxes.
However due to the environmental impact, we will be exploring other packaging options (recycling will also be considered).
You can change the contents of your package anytime as long as it is submitted at 48 hours prior to the delivery date.
The delivery is free of charge for our subscribed clients.
On each item you will see the known alergenics.
If you would like to know the ingredients, feel free to reach out and we will gladly supply them.
Any change or order request has to be submitted at least 48 hours in advance.
If you want to replace the selection with other items please do it on time, otherwise the contents that will be included in the order will be the same from the previous delivery.
In an attempt to minimize waste and ensure that you get your order as fresh as possible we will not be holding stocks.
All ingredients, purchase and production planning will be performed in the begining of the month.
In the beginning of the month you will be charged the for the package size multiplied by the number of deliveries expected during that month (depending on the delivery slots selected).

You can cancel your subscription one week prior to the end of each month

Ofcourse it is not our intention to overflow your fridge with products, however prior to cancellation you have severa options to choose from:
1. You can change your pack to include more frozen items (the forzen selection has a much higher validity)
2. You can decide to adventure and try items that you did not try before
2. You can request to skip a week or two of deliveries.
3. Inform us of what you want you have in stock and we will provide you with tasty ways to consume them.
4. In case the delivery time is not convenient, just request to move your slot to a more appropriate time.

Whenever you refer a friend and that person makes an order, we will add to your order 2 additional items for free (you can choose the item or you can leave it up to us and we will surely surprise you - surprise item may not necessarily be part or our product line).
